BC’s Rental Housing Task Force in Action!
Landlord Education in 13 Regional Locations

Vancouver, BC (September 18, 2019) –   In December 2018 the BC Government’s Rental Housing Task Force issued 23 recommendations to modernize and improve British Columbia’s residential tenancy laws.  This is articulated specifically by Recommendation #12: “Make the Residential Tenancy Branch more responsive, accessible and proactive with more opportunities to learn from and educate landlords (rental housing providers) and renters on their rights and responsibilities”.

Subsequent to the release of the Task Force recommendations, LandlordBC was pleased to be selected by the Honourable Selina Robinson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, to develop and administer landlord education initiatives to provide rental housing providers with relevant information on various important issues that occur before, during and after a tenancy.

Today we are excited to officially announce the rollout of 13 regional education workshops in locations strategically selected by LandlordBC commencing October 8, 2019 in Prince George and ending November 25, 2019 in Nanaimo (click here to view the poster and full schedule).  Participation in the workshops is FREE to attendees, and all landlords, property managers, rental building managers and resident caretakers are invited and encouraged to attend.

Whether a landlord rents one unit or one hundred there are key pieces of legislation that govern the landlord and tenant relationship. These interactive and in-depth workshops will provide rental housing providers with the tools and fundamentals needed for successful tenancies. Topics include: The Residential Tenancy Act, The Human Rights Code, and privacy guidelines.  This is a unique opportunity to gain critically important technical knowledge in-person from knowledgeable experts.

Participants can sign up now for the FREE workshop in their region by going to the dedicated registration website.  Pre-registration is required.  https://landlordbc.ca/regional-education/
