Christine Boyle Appointed Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs

Premier David Eby announced a cabinet shuffle on Thursday, July 17, 2025 introducing new leadership to better serve communities across British Columbia. Christine Boyle has been appointed Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, reflecting the Province’s commitment to aligning housing and municipal priorities.

Minister Boyle began her political career with Vancouver City Council in 2018 and was re‑elected in 2022. She later secured the BC NDP nomination for Vancouver–Little Mountain and was elected to the Legislature in 2024, marking her first term in provincial politics. Before entering public office, Minister Boyle worked in front‑line social services and community outreach in Vancouver and contributed to national multi‑faith climate advocacy. She holds an undergraduate degree in Urban Agriculture and First Nations Studies from the University of British Columbia.

Minister Boyle’s appointment comes at a critical time for housing in British Columbia. We look forward to working with her to address the growing cost pressures on existing rental housing and to help drive the creation of new homes across the housing continuum. Together, we can ensure more people in this province have access to safe, secure, and affordable places to live.

We also wish to acknowledge Ravi Kahlon’s transition from the housing file to his new role as Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation. We have valued his collaborative approach and thank him for his ongoing dedication to improving outcomes for British Columbians.

As we move forward, we remain committed to working in partnership with the Province and Minister Boyle to support the delivery of safe, well‑maintained rental housing and to help meet the housing needs of communities across British Columbia.
