These are challenging times for rental housing providers due to high operating expenses with taxes, insurance, and utility costs having an oversized impact. These challenges are likely to be further exacerbated due to political uncertainty domestically and geopolitical threats. Even the most casual observer will have noticed higher levels of vacancy and softening rents as the impacts of federal action on immigration and international students begin to unfold. Add to this an influx of new rental units and a strong pipeline for more on the immediate horizon and the dynamics of the rental universe will require steely nerves and strong management skills to weather the storm.

With a background in commercial banking and real estate development, Dave manages client relationships and leads Devon Properties’ commercial property management and brokerage services.
Hunter Boucher
Hunter Boucher is LandlordBC’s Vice President, Operations and has nearly 20 years of experience working with the rental housing industry and his expertise is in legislative issues and industry best practices. Hunter supports LandlordBC in three keys areas: leadership of day-to-day operations, member and public education, and media/government relations.
